Michiel Raats (1979) studied Architecture at the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture and Urban Design and is co-founder of the Rotterdam based architectural office Bubble, specializing in architecture and urban design, research and journalism, and education. During the last decade he participated in a wide spectrum of architectural and urban design projects at a variety of Dutch offices, among which OKRA landschapsarchitecten, Atelier Zuidvleugel, maxwan architects + urbanists and SPUTNIK. He played a key role in larger and smaller projects of different urban scales. Alongside Michiel tutored architectural theory at the Fontys MA+U in Tilburg. Currently he works parttime for the The New Institute, the spiritual descendant of the Dutch Architecture Institute (NAi). Among the projects he organized for The New Institute are The Studio for Unsollicited Architecture and the design for the new Skatepark,
