Charlotte Ernst is architect, stedenbouwkundig ontwerper en stadmaker. Ze is oprichter en bestuurslid van Het Hof van Cartesius in Utrecht, een circulaire proeftuin voor creatieve makers van 5000m2. Het is een voorbeeld voor een nieuwe lokale, natuurinclusieve en circulaire economie samen met creatieve ondernemers. Vanuit Cistain ontwikkelt zij gebieden en gebouwen op een andere wijze en altijd samen; vanuit de gebruiker, de grondstoffen en de groene omgeving. In sociaal-ecologische gebiedsstrategieën schept Cistain ruimte zodat mensen zelf plekken kunnen maken.

Film screening HouseEurope! ‘No to Demolition, Yes to Renovation’ Every minute, a building in Europe is demolished. By the end of this documentary, 37 more will be gone—along with the stories, energy, and memories they hold. This film tells the story of HouseEurope!, a European Citizens’ Initiative aiming to make renovation faster, cheaper, and easier while stopping the cycle of demolition and reconstruction. Through expert insights and real-life examples, the film reveals how demolition wastes homes, jobs, energy, and memories, while showcasing renovation as a proven, sustainable alternative. This is more than saving buildings—it’s about rethinking our value system, preserving what already exists, and pushing for EU laws to make renovation the new norm.

Matylda Krzykowski plans, designs, writes and talks about physical and digital space on the interface between design, art, architecture and performance. Her work manifests in exhibitions, installations, scenography, exhibits and experimental formats. She is the artistic lead of CIVIC, a social infrastructure and exhibition and discourse space at the Academy of Art and Design in Basel. As tutor Matylda Krzykowski contributes to the Critical Inquiry Lab at Design Academy Eindhoven and The Master Design of the Bern Academy of the Arts HKB. In her talk at the RAVB, she will blend physical and digital space and reconsider traditional presentation setups.

Serge Schoemaker is architect en werkte o.a. als projectarchitect bij Peter Zumthor voordat hij zijn eigen bureau oprichtte, waarmee hij o.a. Fort van Hoofddorp (UNESCO Werelderfgoed) transformeerde en verschillende woningen realiseerde.

OPEN STUDIO’S Op vrijdag 20 juni presenteren studenten hun werk uit de ontwerpstudio’s van dit semester tijdens de Open Studio’s. Aan het eind van de middag is de RAVB open voor publiek. Aansluitend aan de Studio Show waarin studenten hun studioresultaten aan het publiek uitleggen zal een gesprek plaatsvinden tussen Hans van der Heijden en studenten, o.a. Fatima Eloussari in relatie tot de studio Budapester Palazzo van dit semester, over de typologie van het woonpalazzo, o.a. Nederlandse en Marokkaanse voorbeelden en de betekenis voor de huidige stadontwikkeling.

Bekijk de uitkomsten van de vorige studio Het Venetiaans Palazzo, analyse van de Venetiaanse palazzi en ontwerpen door studenten van de Rotterdamse Academie van Bouwkunst.
